In this exhibition we will showcase 60 works by 14 leading-edge manga artists from FECO JAPAN, which humorously depict each and every perspective of the hectic and changing modern society we live in, drawn in a single panel. Please come to experience the charm of single-panel manga. Originally created in 1940, the Tom and Jerry cartoon franchise has stood the test of time and is still loved by many people across the globe. A special event coming to Fukuoka’s JR Kyushu Hall will showcase a variety of Tom and Jerry related pieces, from collaborative works with commissioned artists to fun trick art displays and plenty more. The features of the beloved beagle, from his round muzzle to his floppy ears are brought to life with minimalist details.
The Snoopy Heart portrays the character with a red heart. The
artworks depict the youth culture in the respective nations for our
entertainment as well promoting awareness of our Asian similarities and
diversities. The various cartoonists have imbued their works with a unique sense
of humour and satire that is expected to be amusing and insightful for the Asian

มังงะ Yamanoi Norio was the first Japanese person to join FECO while living in France in 1987, and later formed FECO NIPPON upon returning home. Then in 1994 it was dissolved for restructuring in respect to the direction of the members at the time. Yokota Yoshiaki served as president during the interim, and the role has been taken on by Shinohara Yukio since 2014. At the Kyoto International Manga Museum, we have previously collaborated with FECO to hold the exhibition “Japan as seen by Turkish comic artists” (13th Dec 2007 – 27th Jan 2008). The opportunity to see the world of single-panel manga is becoming increasingly less common in present-day Japan.
It has “Heigh-Ho!” and “Someday My Prince Will Come” from Snow White, “Little April Shower” from Bambi, “Who’s Afraid of the Big Bad Wolf?” from Three Little Pigs, and “The Nutcracker Suite, Op.71A” from Fantasia. While enjoying musical styles from ballad to spirited, it also presents various expressive elements and notation. It’s purposefully written to differentiate between melody and harmony, so players should be able to maintain tempi and feel the musical flow.
